Burhanullah's Courage: A 2-Year-Old Afghan's Barefoot Journey Through Winter for Heart Surgery

Burhanullah at Almaty, Kazakhstan

Our recent heart surgeries for the first group of Afghan children were successful, marking a positive step in their treatment journey. Among them was 2-year-old Burhanullah, who endured a challenging journey from Afghanistan to Mongolia, travelling barefoot through Tashkent and stopping for visa processing in Almaty in December. Despite the hardships, he finally reached us. Soon, he'll reunite with his relieved and anxious mom after undergoing successful treatment. Each moment, especially during the surgery and the subsequent two days, was a challenging yet unforgettable experience for Burhanullah's mom, who remained steadfast and hopeful throughout.

Burhanullah five days after the surgery, looking energetic.

Burhanulla is already a soccer player.

Burhanulla really misses his mother. She go around the world to get to her mother: Ulaanbaatar - Seoul - Dubai - Kabul
