UB Songdo Hospital of Mongolia and the Ibn e Sin Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Center of Afghanistan

UB Songdo Hospital of Mongolia and the Ibn e Sin Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Center of Afghanistan have signed an agreement aimed at advancing cardiac healthcare services and to provide humanitarian aid for vulnerable families to save their children born with CHD and are in need of urgent intervention. The agreement establishes the following key objectives:

1. Providing cardiac and thoracic surgeries for Afghan children free of any cost, including travel and surgery.

2. Conducting specialized training programs for Afghan doctors and nurses in Mongolia and in Afghanistan.

3. Offering technical and medical support to facilitate the establishment of a cardiac surgery program in at Ibn e Sin hospital.

As part of this initiative, Mr. Aminullah Momand, Director of Medical Assistance at the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, personally accompanied the third patient under this collaboration, medical student Sayed, to Mongolia. Following a successful heart surgery and a swift recovery, the patient has now returned to Afghanistan.

Mr. Momand highly commented Mongolia’s advancements in medical technology and healthcare services, emphasizing that this partnership represents a significant milestone in international medical cooperation.

This agreement plays a crucial role in expanding access to life-saving cardiac care for Afghan patients, fostering the development of medical expertise, and supporting the long-term establishment of a sustainable cardiac surgery program in Afghanistan.
